FOOTBALL BOWL ASSOCIATION RELEASES 2019-20 BOWL SCHEDULE

Fba LogoSeveral top matchups loom in addition to CFP games

This day marked a special Selection Sunday with the long-awaited announcement of the 2019-20 FBA schedule.  The first game will take place Friday, December 20, when Buffalo and Charlotte collide in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl in Nassau.

A total of 78 teams will take part this year, culminating with the College Football Playoff championship game Monday, January 13, 2020.  That will match the winners of the two semifinal games, LSU against Oklahoma in the Chick-fl-A Peach Bowl on December 28, immediately followed that day by Ohio State meeting Clemson In the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.

A number of top intersectional contests dot this year’s schedule.  In the early going, Appalachian State takes its 12-1 record to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 21.  In a Big Ten/Pac-12 matchup prior to the Rose Bowl Game, Iowa and USC will meet in the SDCCU Holiday Bowl on December 27.

Notre Dame returns to action on December 28 when the Fighting Irish take on Iowa State in the Camping World Bowl.

Two outstanding matchups are on tap early on New Year’s Day.  Michigan faces Alabama in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl.  Minnesota meets Auburn in the Outback Bowl.

“This is an outstanding group of games we have this year,” noted FBA executive director Wright Waters.  “There are interesting matchups all over the country.  I do believe all college football fans are really going to enjoy all the games and I can’t wait to get it going later this month.”
