Civil rights lawyer is the Tom Joyner Foundation’s first Full Ride scholar

As a person with a disability from Brooklyn, New York, civil rights lawyer Britney Wilson grew up fighting for her basic rights. She was the first winner of the Full Ride Scholarship from Tom Joyner’s foundation in 2008 and attended historically black Howard University. Joyner said it’s young people like Wilson who give him hope for the future. She describes her life growing up in Brooklyn, how her experiences at Howard helped develop her into an advocate for people who are disabled.
