Atlanta Football Host Committee
Carl Adkins has been involved with the sports, entertainment and convention industry for 40 years. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Atlanta Football Host Committee, where he is responsible for the planning and execution of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. After 21 years with the Georgia Dome as general manager and assistant general manager, Adkins was promoted to the role of Chief Commercial Officer with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority in January of this year. Before joining the GWCCA, Adkins was with the Nashville Convention Center from January 1986 to July 1991. Adkins has served as an on-site consultant for the last 16 Super Bowls.
He is a member of the International Association of Assembly Managers and past chair of the stadium committee, International Association of Venue Managers and past Director of the Stadium Sector and on the IAVM Board. He is also a member of the Stadium Manager’s Association, the International Association of Exposition Management, Senior Executive Symposium at Cornell, Gridiron Sports Network and Events and the Atlanta Sports Council. Adkins is a native of Huntington, West Virginia and Marshall University alumnus.
